Focus Scripture
And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went away, washed, and came back seeing. He replied, “The Man called Jesus made mud and smeared it on my eyes and told me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received my sight!” They asked him, “Where is He?” He said, “I do not know.” John 9:7, 11 AMP
Reflection:
The miracle had already taken place, though the man didn’t know it yet. Jesus — just as He once formed man from the dust in Genesis 2:7 — had now fashioned new eyes for this man born blind. Yet, before the man could see what had been done, Jesus gave him an instruction: “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam.”
Imagine that — still blind, still unsure — but asked to walk in obedience. It was in that very act of obedience that the miracle became visible. The man went, he washed, and he came back seeing!
He listened.
He chose to trust.
He put his faith into action — and through obedience, he received his healing.
How often do we pray, fast, and cry out for God to move, yet hesitate when He tells us to “go and wash”? Sometimes the breakthrough is waiting on the other side of our obedience.
Then came the testimony! Halleluyah, glory to Jesus!
“The man called Jesus
made mud — the miracle,
smeared it on my eyes — the execution of the miracle,
told me to go and wash — the call to obedience through faith.
So I went, and I washed, and I received my sight!”
Has the Man called Jesus made mud, smeared it on your eyes, and told you to go and wash — yet you’re still lingering, like Lot did?
Today, don’t delay. Go and wash.
And may we soon hear your testimony, in Jesus’ name.
Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, how great are Your ways! Unsearchable are Your thoughts, and unfathomable are Your judgments. Thank You for being our ever-present help in times of trouble. Help us to trust in Your love for us. Grant us grace to obey when You tell us to go and wash, that we too may receive our sight. For this reason, You sent Your only begotten Son into the world — as the Light.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
